University of Evansville Basketball Player Receives Two MVC Honors
It's hard to imagine having a better week than Cam Haffner. On Monday, the University of Evansville basketball player was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Third Team. On the court, Cam averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this season. His performance off the court was equally impressive, carrying a 3.5 GPA as a Management major.

Just one day after the scholar-athlete announcement, the basketball team received another exciting piece of news. Cam Haffner earned a spot on the MVC's Most Improved Team. As you would expect from someone on this team, Cam showed one of the biggest improvements in the MVC - that is, before a January 22nd injury ended his season prematurely.
Cam came close to doubling his scoring from last season, going from 6.6 PPG to 12.7 PPG this season. After putting up four double-digit scoring games last season, Cam more than tripled that number with 13 double-digit games this season. He did that by improving his overall shooting percentage from 40.1% to 45.9% in 2024-25.

Cam put in work on the boards, too, doubling his rebounding average from 1.8 to 3.6 per game. He had the best game of his college career this season, too, scoring 27 points against Green Bay. Cam had a 25-point game against Belmont and remains in the top ten in the MVC with 2.35 3-pointers per game.

The University of Evansville men's basketball team is heading to St. Louis this week to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) "Arch Madness" tournament. The Purple Aces are the #10 seed and will face Murray State on Thursday, March 6th.
