I can assure you I had no idea this sort of thing would be a weekly occurrence when I wrote about Ethan Hawke last week.

The twice-Oscar-nominated actor was in Shelbyville KY scouting locations for a new period piece. It was Hawke's second visit in four months; he was in Louisville in July doing the same thing.

While I will never stop singing the praises of the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive and all it could mean for the Commonwealth, it doesn't apply in this latest instance. But in this "latest instance" we do have another Oscar-nominated actor hanging out in Kentucky, although, this time, he isn't scouting; he's actually shooting a movie.

British actor Tom Hardy, a 2016 Best Supporting Actor nominee for the exciting but exhausting The Revenant, has been filming a new drama called The Bikeriders in Cincinnati. While I'm not sure if he was shooting a scene nearby of just hauling it all the way to Fort Wright KY for some lunch, Hardy DID create a stir when he visited Walt's Hitching Post this weekend.

And I wasn't kidding when I said it was a haul; look how far Walt's Hitching Post is from downtown Cincinnati.

Hardy joins a big-name cast in The Bikeriders, a period film set in 1968. Here's a quick breakdown:

Set in the 1960s, it follows the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group's unique way of life.

Alongside Hardy, you will also see Elvis' Austin Butler, Killing Eve's Emmy-winning Jodie Comer, two-time Oscar nominee and Kentucky native Michael Shannon, The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, and West Side Story's Mike Faist. Here's Butler on location:

@fansofaustinbutler Watching Austin film all day was an absolute dream come true 🖤 Also, I know y’all see him give me that little smirk from across the street, even though it’s blurry #austinbutler #austinbutlerfanpage #bikeriders #chicagovandals #benny #austinbutlerfan ♬ Hotel - Montell Fish

Filming just began in October in the Cincinnati area, but if you're as lucky as the folks at Walt's Hitching Post, you might want to take a road trip sooner rather than later and see if you, too, can have a "brush with greatness." Post pics, if you do.
