Testing for COVID-19 at CK Newsome Center Extended Thru August
Folks who live and work in Evansville now have even more opportunities to get tested for COVID-19. The testing that was taking place at the CK Newsome Center in downtown Evansville has been extended through August, according to the Reopen Evansville Task Force.
The tests will continue to be administered by OptumServe, and will be available from 8am-8pm Monday through Firday.
Evansville Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Reopen Evansville Task Force says, “Through our partnership with the state, over 1,100 residents have been tested at the CK Newsome site in the past two weeks. Having the site open through August in a centrally located area of our city is tremendous news.”
The COVID-19 tests are free but you do need to register in advance. You can register online or by calling 888-634-1116. No medical insurance is necessary. However, residents with existing insurance are asked to provide that information during the scheduling process.
The site was made possible through a collaboration between Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, the Vanderburgh County Health Department (VCHD) and the Indiana State Department of Health.
In addition to local hospital and VCHD neighborhood testing, ISDH testing is available at:
- CVS Pharmacy on Saint Joseph Avenue
- Deaconess Clinic Lynch
