Evansville’s CK Newsome Center Forced to Close Cooling Center
Cooling Centers only work if the air conditioner works. Unfortunately, The CK Newsome Center in Downtown Evansville will not be able to offer the cooling center until the building’s HVAC system is repaired.
As of 8/22, CK Newsome Center is no longer a cooling center until further notice. Overnight, the building’s HVAC system shut down and is awaiting major repairs. The building is open, but all Evansville Department of Parks & Recreation programming has been canceled for today. Additional updates will be posted on the Park's Facebook page.
