About 2 months ago, my husband, Doug, was diagnosed with Basil Cell Carcinoma. While this is the most common type of skin cancer, it's still cancer.

Last month, he had it removed, but it turns out, they didn't get it all. So, now he has another, more involved surgery scheduled in October. We went for the consultation, the doctor actually said, "Well, this is the best cancer you could get". Really? He did not win the lottery of cancers!

I am thankful that is is not Melanoma, but it still involves surgery, and it will leave a scar. And there is a 50% chance that it will come back. He is still tanning, but he says he has cut down to just a few days a week.
