Celebrating Southern Indiana’s Marching Band Talent

Before I get to the poll results (I guess you could cheat, and just down to the bottom), I want to take a moment to celebrate every single one of the incredibly talented students in our local marching bands. These kids have been working their tails off since July - perfecting their 2025 shows to life - and that hard work is finally paying off.

For some bands, the season has wrapped up, but for others, the dream of a state championship is still very much alive! This weekend (October 25), several bands from our area will take the field at the ISSMA Open Semi-State, while others will be competing in the ISSMA Scholastic Class Finals (see the performance schedule below). 30 Bizarre (and Real) Indiana High School Mascots

According to High School.com, there are 682 high schools in Indiana. 555 of those are public schools, while the remaining 127 are private. A majority of those schools have chosen typical mascots to represent them, like eagles, tigers, lions, jets, patriots, and so on and so forth. But, these 30 schools decided to go, well, a different direction.
