Severely Injured Dog’s Story Comes to a Heartbreaking Conclusion

At the beginning of the week, we told you about a dog that came to It Takes a Village with some of the worst injuries we've ever seen. The folks at ITV named her Valentine. The initial request was for folks to donate to what would surely be an expensive medical treatment. After an outpouring of love and support, ITV asked us to hold off on any more donations until they could figure out the next step for this sweet pooch.

We quickly learned that the chocolate lab's name is actually Gracie and she has a family. It breaks my heart even more to knowing that Gracie has a family that loves her and was looking for her. And, sadly, we learned that her injuries were most likely too severe to treat. Last night, on their Facebook page, It Takes a Village shared a final update on this tragic story.
