Dangerous Overcrowding

The call to action came from Webster County Kentucky Animal Care and Control facing a dire overcrowding crisis. With over 70 pups housed in a facility meant for only 50, and 12 shivering souls forced to stay outdoors, these precious creatures were facing a dangerously cold night.

Volunteers Waste No Time

But It Takes a Village, true to their name, rallied with lightning speed. Five valiant volunteers, alongside seven shelter employees, mobilized into action. Ten generous foster families opened their hearts and homes, and eight welcoming boarding kennels stepped up to offer temporary refuge. In a stunning 10-hour operation, not a single dog spent the night outside!

The vans were full but we made room for one more - a senior gal named Ol' Girl. She jumped in the front floorboard, but quickly assumed the position of co-pilot and extended a thankful paw!

ITV Spencer County Location Assists

The good news doesn't end there! This incredible team, using their "free time" no less, further extended their warmth to four abandoned pups in Spencer County, bringing them in from the freezing cold and into the cozy embrace of the shelter. That's 20 furry lives saved in a single day, with 3 more rescued the day before!

With such an admirable feat accomplished, even heroes deserve a break. But rest assured, this dedicated team will be tirelessly finding permanent homes for the pups enjoying temporary boarding.
