Aside from having a slight chance for an occasional rain show this weekend, the 4th of July is looking pretty good, weather-wise. That's great news for anyone who's planning on spending time outside - in the pool, at the park, over the grill, and definitely watching some fireworks. Whatever your plans are, there is one essential ingredient for the holiday weekend - MUSIC.

Look No Further

You know we've got you taken care of here at MY105.3, where we will have an extra-long edition of the Feel Good All '80s Weekend, which includes on the 4th of July on Monday. So definitely make sure you have us cranked up, either on your radio or through the MY105.3 app. But, just in case you're feeling a little extra patriotic, and you're looking for some special music to enhance those feelings, we have put together a special 4th of July playlist.

This playlist features music from all types of genres - rock, pop, rap, and country - but they all have a couple of things in common, they're gonna get that toe-tappin' and they're gonna put a smile on your face. Some of my personal favorites from the playlist include (in no particular order):

  • American Girl - Tom Petty
  • American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
  • American Pie - Don McLean
  • Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band
  • California Love - 2Pac & Dr. Dre

I realize there are a ton of other songs that could be included, but I figured giving you just about two and a half hours of music is a great start - just in case you want to take a little break from our Feel Good 80's Weekend to crank out some patriotic tunes. Just as long as you promise to return to the 80s when you're done.
