Good News: Illinois Community Thanks Police Officer for ‘Branching Out’
We can all use some good news, especially when it involves our local police officers.
Police Officer Branches Out
It is awesome to see police officers caught on camera doing the right thing. Officer Emmons is known around Mt. Carmel, IL as someone who does the right thing even when he doesn't think anyone is watching.
Amanda McCarver was watching as Officer Emmons took the time to help an older gentleman clean up tree limbs from the storms. She shared the story along with some photos in the Facebook group helpful information around mt.carmel Illinois and surrounding areas.
Yesterday on the 4th of July my mom and I were driving down 3rd street there was a picture of what America is all about helping one another! This police officer was helping this elderly gentleman out with a tree from the recent storms.
The officer was quickly recognized by residents in Mt. Carmel, even his wife!
That's my husband Eric Emmons! He's always been one to jump in and help wherever he can, I'm so happy to see how he is appreciated in our little town! ~ Angel Emmons
Full Circle Thank You
Officer Emmons was thanked in the best way possible: Donut Bank coffee and donuts!
On 7/5/23, Officer Emmons was surprised by a gift of coffee and donuts from Jacob's Well Church! It is no secret that cops love donuts and their offering was much appreciated! The gift was a result of Ofc. Emmons helping them clean up storm debris while he was on patrol. Thank you Ofc. Emmons and Jacob's Well!
