This Kentucky City Ranks as One of the Least Diverse in America

When you look up the meaning of diversity, the first thing you'll find is a one-word definition - it simply means "variety." Over the years, however, that definition has expanded quite a bit. These days, when you think of diversity, you probably think of this definition - "the practice of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc."

WalletHub recently conducted a study ranking the Most & Least Diverse Cities in America, and the economic impact that has on each city. WalletHub compiled data across the five major diversity categories for 501 of the country's largest cities.

If you're looking for the most diverse communities, you'll find them in Maryland (the top three spots) and Texas (rounding out the top five). What about the cities at the other end of the list? According to the data, New Hampshire really needs to improve diversity.  Eight of the 15 least diverse cities on the list are in New Hampshire. There is also a Kentucky city near the bottom of the list.

The small town of Georgetown, Kentucky, is known as the horse capital of the world - it also is ranked #482 on this list, meaning it is the 20th least diverse city in America. Here are the individual category rankings that landed Georgetown so far down on the list.
