May the Fur Be With You: VHS’s Biggest Night of the Year Returns to Evansville
A Star Wars-Themed Evening for a Great Cause
If you love animals, community events, and maybe just a little Star Wars fun, one of Evansville’s most beloved nights is coming back in a big way.
The Vanderburgh Humane Society is gearing up for the 29th annual Going, Going, Gone to the Dogs Benefit Dinner & Auction, and this year’s theme is guaranteed to make pet lovers smile: “May the Fur Be With You.” It’s a Star Wars-inspired evening, and it sounds like it’s going to be out of this galaxy.
The Humane Society’s Biggest Fundraiser
This event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Vanderburgh Humane Society, helping support the pets and people they serve across the Evansville area.
After a record-breaking 2025 event that welcomed 360 attendees and raised more than $150,000, this year’s event is shaping up to be even bigger.
When and Where to Be

Don’t Wait—This Event Sells Out
If last year is any indication, you’ll want to act fast—this event sold out in 2025.
A Fun Night That Makes a Real Difference
For Evansville animal lovers, this event is more than just a night out. It’s a chance to support lifesaving work in our community while enjoying great food, great company, and a fun theme.
So grab your friends, pick out your best Star Wars-inspired outfit, and get ready for a night that’s truly out of this galaxy.
May the fur be with you, Evansville.
