Man Comes Home to Find Someone Broke In Just to Clean It
Talk about making a clean getaway.
A man in Arlington, Va. is at a loss after he returned home from a trip earlier this week only to discover an intruder broke in and cleaned it after illegally entering the residence. Nothing was taken, except maybe for some grease, grime and dust that had been clouding the abode.
Police say some of the man's belongings were moved. In case you're thinking the man had the world's most ambitious cleaning lady, think again: he does not have a maid. There's no word on whether the suspect has been caught, but we'd be willing to bet this is his first time committing such a crime. A person this obsessed is bound to a have a record as spotless as the floors he mopped.
Heck, it reminds us of that Friends episode that ends with Monica offering to clean the apartment of a woman Ross dumped because it was so filthy.
This whole story got us thinking, though: if someone is going to break into your house and perform some random act of kindness, what would it be (noting, of course, the irony in that breaking into your home is hardly a nice act)?
If you think of the list of things that need to be done to keep your home from looking like the morning after a frat house kegger, you may long to have someone come over and keep things tidy. What could this domestic vigilante do? Here are some thoughts:
- laundry
- wash dishes
- put the remotes in one central spot
- clean all the crumbs from under the couch
- clean out the fridge
- dust
- clean the oven
- organize the closets
- scrub gunk off the walls
- scrub the toilets
- vacuum
