If your hall of heroes includes Dizzie Dean, Stan “The Man” Musual, Ozzie Smith, and Yadier Molina, then listen up. If you recently removed Albert and Jason from that list (they need not be completely named), then listen up! If spring means baseball, and you prefer to root for the team with 11 World Series victories, 19 NL Pennants, 10 Central Division Titles and 3 East Division Titles, and a storied history dating back to 1892, listen up!

The St. Louis Cardinals have a new home in the Evansville, Henderson, and Owensboro region! ESPN Radio 105.3 FM! I know Cardinals baseball has been available on the radio in the area in the past, but that was only if the weather was right, there were no local games are airing, and you had your aluminum for the rabbit ears twisted just right.  But now, we have a 50,000 watt station.  That’s a lot of power pumping Cardinals radio into every nook and cranny of the tristate.

I was born and raised in South St. Louis City. For you current and past St. Louisans, I grew up near the intersection of Kingshighway and Chippewa, 1 mile west from the old Famous Barr and 3 miles east of Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (not the original one, but the popular one on Route 66).  I was raised as part of the Cardinal Nation attending my first game just a few weeks before my birth.  My family enjoyed many a game in the nosebleed section of Busch II. As a young child, I fondly remember the excitement of the stadium as Ozzie Smith came to bat.  Now I carry on that tradition in Busch III with my own kids who are also being raised to love the Redbirds.

So the friends at ESPN 105.3 FM thought I could connect with Cardinals fans on the weekly happenings in Cardinal Nation. Who’s on the DL, who is trending up, and who isn’t? Come here weekly to see updated NL Central standings, how the Cards are faring, and what this means to our Postseason chances.  Take me out to the ballgame!
