I have never been a fan of using ice scrapers to remove ice from my windshield. That occasional sound when the "blade" of the scraper connects with the window is almost as bad as nails on the chalkboard. Plus, seriously, how well do they work anyway?

How to Weather-Proof Your Vehicle

Whether or not this comes recommended, I turn the car on, turn the heat on, and then I just let it run a while until the frozen precipitation that's against the window softens up.
