You Can Get Your Car Washed by Monsters in Kentucky and Indiana
It's time to wash your car, whether it needs it or not. I say this with a bit of urgency because the demons and monsters stalking certain car washes in Indiana and Kentucky likely won't be working after this coming weekend.
A Haunted Car Wash in Louisville
SpeedWash in Louisville plans to wrap things up even earlier than that. Its final haunted car wash experiences are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30.
I applaud this ingenious idea (actually, I give it a standing ovation), which gained traction during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, according to NPR. Yes, chalk up another solid idea that arose from a time most of us would just as soon forget. But arise it did (just like Dracula every evening), and it was a home-run idea.
Evansville's Haunted Tunnel Returns for Halloween
So yeah, if you can't make it to Louisville this Thursday or Friday and you live here in the tri-state, Evansville's Wash Boss has you covered. The Haunted Tunnel returns for its final run of the season on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at 1300 Cross Pointe Place, in front of Costco.
And that's a perfect time for a family Halloween adventure. These days, most trick-or-treating wraps up before 7 p.m., sometimes well before. So after the candy haul, load up your vehicle and head to Wash Boss. Just be prepared for a few screams along the way!
It's $20 per car, but that includes the Works Express Wash and the Haunted Tunnel experience. Just keep in mind that regular memberships, passes and coupons aren't accepted during this special event.
And when it ends, you can make a "clean getaway." (Insert groans here.)
