2026 Louisville Jack O’Lantern Spectacular Announces New Location

After 13 years, the Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular is leaving Iroquois Park, and its new location will be a massive attraction for visitors.

Several years ago, I attended the annual Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular. My first thought was, "Who wants to pay money to go see a bunch of pumpkins carved by kids?" I was clearly wrong about this place. It was absolutely AMAZING! These hand-crafted pumpkins took a lot of time and skill to create. If you've never been to the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular, I highly encourage you to take the family out one night. You will be amazed! Especially with the extra things you'll be able to do at its new location.

2026 Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular

For the past 13 years, the Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular has been held at Iroquois Park in Louisville. In 2026, the event will have a new location. This year's Jack O'Lantern Spectacular will be held at Kentucky Kingdom. The spectacular will become part of Kentucky Kingdom's fall festival, Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom, which was launched in 2022.

So, this sounds really cool! According to WLKY,

While the events are all in the same place, they'll still be separate.

Kentucky Kingdom spokespeople said the thousands of Spectacular pumpkins will be in Hurricane Bay. They will drain the lazy river, and the 5,000 or so pumpkins will be in and around it.

And then another 1,000 pumpkins will be strewn about the theme park as part of the regular Kentucky Kingdom event.

That's a total of 6,000 hand-carved pumpkins that will be illuminating Kentucky Kingdom during this event. On top of the Jack O' Lanterns, this family-friendly fall festival offers more than 30 rides, themed food and beverage options, trick-or-treat stations with free candy, a hay maze, fall-themed photo opportunities, and live entertainment.
