Is This a Sign of Spring… a Critter in My Backyard

On this first day of Spring, I was going about my usual business this morning - drinking my coffee and tidying up the kitchen.  As I was loading the dishwasher, I was glancing outside at all the perennials popping up and then noticed something moving outside my kitchen window!  

What the heck is that?  Here's what I saw:

A huge rat?  It's definitely not a cat.  A possum or maybe an opossum?  And, what's it doing in my yard?

Well, I looked it up and I'm guessing this is an opossum.  Still, I don't know why it was roaming around in my backyard! It freaked me out!  #Springbroughtabackyardcritter
