Indiana Woman Brings Happiness to Coffee with a Cop with Smooth Dance Moves [WATCH]

There's rarely a dull moment during the Evansville Police Department's monthly Coffee with a Cop get-together, and that proved to be the case again during the August edition earlier this week.

What is Coffee with a Cop?

Each month officers from the Evansville Police Department set up shop at either an Evansville Donut Bank location or Chick-Fil-A on Crosspointe Boulevard for a couple of hours and invite you to stop by for some breakfast and a chat about whatever is on your mind before you head to work for the day. The conversation can be anything you want it to be. Notice something a little off in your neighborhood that you'd like the police to keep an eye on? This is an opportunity to let them know. Maybe you simply want to know if they're binge-watching the same show you are, or what they think about a particular sports team. The possibilities are endless and give you the chance to get to know the men and women behind the badge who have dedicated their lives to keeping us safe. Officers who usually stop by include Special Events Coordinator Taylor Merriss, Assistant Police Chief Phil Smith, and Chief Billy Bolin himself. Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has been known to stop by a time or two as well.

Evansville Woman Brings Smooth Dance Moves to August Coffee with a Cop

One Evansville resident who is almost a lock to make an appearance each and every month is Marcie Hall. Marcie, who has Down Syndrome, along with her mom are usually some of the first people to show up and generally stay to the very end. While her mom usually sits quietly at a table enjoying a donut and some coffee, Marcie is quite the social butterfly, making her way around the room saying hi to everyone, and offering hugs to anyone who will take one. The whole place lights up when she walks in the room.

Marcie is also a big fan of the Evansville Police Department. She often brings hand-written notes with her expressing her appreciation for what they do which she hand-delivers to Chief Bolin.

Case in point, when Coffee with a Cop returned in June 2021 after having to shut down due to the COVID pandemic, Marcie was there decked out in red, white, and blue with one of those notes which Assistant Police Chief read out loud for everyone to hear.

Marcie was back for this month's edition which took place at Donut Bank on Washington Avenue, and this time she was ready to put on a show. Wearing a black, fuzzy jacket, matching hat, and one matching glove, all of which gave off a little sparkle from the lights, Marcie cleared the floor in front of the counter, and with Officer Merriss providing the music through her phone, proceeded to bust out a few moves reminiscent of the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.

This isn't the first time Marcie has wowed everyone at Coffee with a Cop with her dance moves. Back in June of this year, she was the clear winner of a quick, impromptu dance-off with Assistant Chief Smith.
