Students Can Get Free FAFSA Filing Help at 37 Locations Across Indiana

Applying for financial aid can be one of the biggest challenges when it comes time to enroll in college. Fortunately, Indiana students can receive free help to file FAFSA during College Goal Sunday.

FAFSA, which is short for Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the form that is required to be eligible for assistance with secondary education expenses with funds coming from federal and state grants, scholarships, and even federal student loans. To be eligible for assistance, Hoosiers must file their FAFSA by the April 15, 2023 deadline.

Most colleges, universities, and vocational/technical schools in the nation require students seeking federal financial aid, including grants and loans, to complete the FAFSA.  The FAFSA form must be received by the federal processor on or before April 15th to be considered “on-time” for Indiana state grant funding.  21st Century Scholars are required to complete and submit a FAFSA form to claim their 21st Century Scholarship.

College Goal Sunday

College Goal Sunday is now in its 34th year. The student resource is a partnership between Indiana Student Financial Aid Association and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and is funded by the Lilly Endowment and INvestED. Financial aid experts will be on hand to assist students and their families with filling out their FAFSA.

When and Where

College Goal Sunday will take place at 37 locations across Indiana on Sunday, February 26th from 2 to 4 pm local time. In the Evansville area, College Goal Sunday will take place at Ivy Tech Community College located on North First Avenue.
