My family and I have created some really awesome memories during our time at the Holiday Inn Resort down in Panama City Beach, Florida – memories that we will always look back on fondly – and we want to give you the opportunity to create some great vacation memories of your own with your own trip to the Holiday Inn Resort. I’m about to explain how this contest works, but there’s one thing I need you to first – I need you to go ahead and download the MY105.3 app (if you don’t already have it) because you will need it if you want a chance to win.

Get our free mobile app

Okay, now that you have the app, let me tell you what you need to do next. Before we give you the chance to create some new memories, we want to hear a favorite memory that you already have. Maybe it’s a memory from a family vacation, or maybe it’s from your days as a youngster during summer break. There aren’t really any rules here, we just you to share a summer/vacation memory, and we want you to do that through our app. If you’ve never recorded or submitted any audio through our app, just know that it is super easy. Here are the step-by-step instructions.

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap the 3 lines in the upper left-hand corner
  3. Tap "Record and Send Audio"
  4. Tell us who you are and then tap "Select and Submit Media Now"
  5. Select "Record Short Audio Clip"
  6. Tap the red REC button and announce your favorite song on MY105.3
  7. (Say your name & where you're from) and then tap "Done"
  8. Finally, just tap "Submit" and you'll be good to go!

Now that you know how to do it, let’s figure out what you’re going to say - I reckon your memory can be as long or as short as you want. Here are a couple of examples of things we might expect to get…

Ex: “Hey this is Bobby from Evansville, and one of my favorite memories from summer break was me and my buddies riding my bikes all over the place.”

Ex: “Hi this is Bobby from Evansville, and I’ll never forget the time my family visited some Mayan ruins while on vacation in Cancun.”

Ex: “What up this Bobby from Evansville – one of my best vacation memories was taking a trip to Chicago to see the Cubbies play at Wrigley Field.”

You get the idea right? We’re taking your submissions now. Each weekday from 5/10-5/21, we will select one of our favorite memories to playback on the air. That person will get some goodies from MY105.3 and will be qualified to win the trip to PCB. We will announce the grand prize winner on Monday, May 24th during the MY Morning Show.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
