Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been inviting you to share a fond summertime or vacation memory by recording yourself in the MY105.3. We got a lot of great submissions, and we played back some of our favorites each day during the MY Morning Show. Each person we selected was qualified to win our grand prize, a trip to the Holiday Inn Resort in Panama City Beach, where they can create some new vacation memories. We randomly selected our winner earlier this week, and we just want to congratulate her again and give her a well-deserved shout-out.

Our grand prize winner is Crystal Vandiver – she told us about a very memorable trip down to Florida back in the day. Along the way, she stopped off to visit some cousins, and that’s when the trip really got interesting. Take a listen to her original submission.

Crystal's Vacation Memory Submission

We gave Crystal a call, hoping to surprise her with the good news – we’re gonna say we were 1 for 2 on that call. Before we could even tell her who we were she said “What’s up Bobby & Liberty?” She said she instantly recognized our voices – so, no surprise there. We were able, however, to surprise her with the news of her winning the grand prize – she was NOT expecting that. That a listen to that call.

Crystal Learns She Won the Grand Prize

So, now Crystal is off to the beautiful Holiday Inn Resort located in Panama City Beach, Florida. I’m not gonna lie, I’m jealous – it’s been way too long since I’ve been down there. Crystal will be among some of the first people to try out the resort’s brand new Lazy River. From there, she can head to one of the two pools, or just walk a few more feet out to the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. Believe me when I say those are just a few of the things to enjoy at the resort. There’s entertainment all throughout the day, including concerts at night; you can enjoy the Dive-In Theater from the comfort of the pool; there is a spa; there are kids activities, and there is plenty of delicious food. Take some time to see for yourself by checking out their various live webcams around the resort. There’s one thing I haven’t mentioned yet, and that’s the thing I remember and appreciate the most, and that is the resort’s staff. Maybe that sounds cheesy, but I don’t care – it’s absolutely true. The people that work there really make the experience so memorable.

Liberty and I are super excited that Crystal gets to see for herself what we have been fortunate enough to see on several occasions. We love our partnership with the Holiday Inn Resort, and we will have more chances for YOU to win, so keep listening!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
