More Than the Big Five High Schools

Bosse, Central, Harrison, North, and Reitz get most of the attention when Evansville families talk high school, and for good reason. But the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) has a whole other set of paths worth knowing about, and the 2026 EVSC Options Fair is the perfect place to check them out.

Programs Built Around Student Passions

And when I say "options," I’m talking about programs built around what students actually love, whether that's science, medicine, law, leadership, teaching, or learning online. These aren't your typical classroom setups. They're designed to open doors to real careers and real skills, before graduation even rolls around.

Standout EVSC Programs to Explore

Some of the standouts include the Academy of Future Educators, the Academy of Science & Medicine at Central, New Tech Institute High School, the Shepard Leadership & Law Academy at Harrison, and the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. Students can also look into Early College High School, JROTC, the EVSC Virtual Academy, and more.

Many of these are half-day programs, so parents don’t have to worry about their kid missing out. That means students can still spend part of their day at their home school, keeping up with friends, sports, and clubs, while diving deep into a field they're excited about.

When and Where to Attend the 2026 EVSC Options Fair

The EVSC Options Fair happens Thursday, October 22, from 5 to 7:45 p.m. at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center on Lynch Road. You can chat with teachers and current students at informational booths, then catch short presentations from each program to get a real feel for what they offer.
