Mayor Terry Hosts “Safer Evansville” Town Hall Meetings
Have you ever given any thought to how to make Evansville safer? Well, now's your chance to share those thoughts face to face with the people working on it every day.
Mayor Stephanie Terry and the Evansville Police Department are hosting a two-part Safer Evansville town hall series this month, and every resident is invited to join the conversation.
A New Way to Connect With Evansville Leaders
Mayor Terry says the series is one more way the city is working to open the door for residents to connect with local leaders. At these meetings, you can expect to hear straight talk on crime trends, public safety strategies, and how everyday folks can be part of the solution.
Safer Evansville Town Hall Schedule and Locations
The first town hall is Wednesday, October 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Dream Center, 1516 N. Main St. This one digs into the numbers, giving you a clearer look at crime in Evansville and how data is shaping enforcement strategies.
The second is Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 S. Governor St. That night, the focus shifts to what the EPD is doing beyond enforcement, including community engagement, building trust, and prevention.

What You Can Expect to Discuss
Both evenings include breakout discussions, so you won't just be sitting and listening. You can share concerns, pass along ideas, celebrate what's working, and point out where things could be better. All of that feedback will help build a community-driven public safety roadmap for the city.
You'll also hear from a lineup of local leaders, including EPD Chief Phil Smith, Prosecutor Diana Moers, Magistrate Judge Celia Pauli, Sheriff Noah Robinson, and Judge Gary Schutte.

Chief Smith says public safety is a shared responsibility. "Just as important," he said, "we want to hear from the community about what they're seeing and what they need from us."
So mark your calendar, bring a neighbor, and come ready to talk. A safer Evansville starts with the people who live here.
