If you will be attending a show at Evansville, Indiana's Ford Center or Victory Theatre, you might want to know about their updated clear bag policy.

The Ford Center and Victory Theatre implemented their new "Clear Bag Policy" a few years ago. This policy was created to help provide a safe and secure environment for concerts and events. Now, this policy has been in place for several years, but it never fails, every time I go to a show at either venue, I still see people bring bags to the door that aren't approved. When that happens, they must walk all the way back to their vehicle to put their bag in there because they weren't allowed to enter the venue. Now, the Ford Center and the Victory Theatre have updated their clear bag policy. So, it is important for you to know about these things before you attend a show at either venue. Trust me, it will save you a little bit of a headache and more unwanted walks back and forth to your vehicle...so pay attention.

Ford Center and Victory Theatre Updated Clear Bag Policy

In a press release sent out earlier today, the Ford Center and Victory Theatre announced that after making several upgrades to their security features, a new clear bag policy has been put in place. Thus, making it even easier (and faster) for concertgoers to enter each venue. Here's what you need to know;

  • All bags will be subject to bag checks.
  • Purses will now be permitted into the venue if measurements are under 12x6x12”.
  • Clear bags can not exceed 12.75x6.5x12.75”.
  • New items allowed inside the venue include fanny packs, drawstring bags, and purses under 12x6x12”.
  • Items still prohibited include non-clear backpacks, duffel bags, oversized totes, and oversized purses over 12x6x12”.

This new policy will be in effect immediately, so make sure that you are familiar with this and spread the word to your friends and family who will be going to a show at either venue. Oh, and for those who might be wondering what the difference is between this clear bag policy and the original, this is what the original looked like:

See How Downtown Evansville Has Changed Over the Years

I find looking back on the way things used to be fascinating. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'm living through the current time period. The conveniences of answering any question we have in seconds, or ordering practically anything we want or need and having it delivered to our doorstep is pretty sweet. But, there is something fun about seeing how things around us have evolved. As an Evansville native, and spending quite a bit of my time in downtown Evansville (that's where the station is located), I've always appreciated the older architecture of the buildings around the area. So, I dug into the Willard Library Archives to see how a few of those areas look now compared to then. Some have changed a little, others quite a bit, and a few don't even exist any more. Take a look.
