Evansville’s Aaron Barrett Heading Back to the Big Leagues [Video]
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. I've watched this clip several times today, and it give me chills every time!
I'm a baseball guy, from a baseball family. Baseball has been a part of just about my entire life, as a player and now as a coach. My childhood dream was to be a professional baseball player. People would ask "What do you want to be when you grow up Bobby?" Without hesitation my answer would be "I'm gonna play second base for the Chicago Cubs!" Maybe that's why this story tugs on my heart strings so much.
Aaron Barrett was a standout on the Central High School baseball team. He went on to play college ball and would eventually end up in big leagues, pitching for the Washington Nationals. That was back in 2015. Since then Aaron has been in the minor leagues, healing from Tommy John surgery and a broken elbow, trying to earn his way back into the show.
He recently got 'the call' that he was heading back to the Nationals. His minor league manager shared the news with Barrett and his teammates. That heartwarming moment was captured on video and shared on Twitter.
