Evansville, Indiana Law Enforcement Provides Security For One Of The Largest Street Festivals in America
The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival brings around 200,000 visitors to Franklin Street, and it takes a lot of planning to ensure everyone has a safe experience.
Interview with Officer Taylor Merriss, Evansville Police Department's Special Projects Coordinator
Officer Taylor Merriss with the Evansville Police Department took on a big challenge in her career last year. Officer Phil Smith moved into the role of Assistant Police Chief, and Taylor's position took over a lot of the public speaking and appearances that Phil did.
We love having the opportunity to hear first-hand how our Evansville Police Officers are connecting with residents in our community. In addition to interacting with the thousands of people that will line Franklin Street for the 101st Annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, our local police also plan to keep everyone safe.
Planning and Guarding
Our Evansville Police Department has a lot of really cool resources to help watch over areas in our city. One of those is THE GUARDIAN. This week, it has been getting ready for the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival at Be Happy Pie Company.
Evansville Police Department asked to park THE GUARDIAN in our lot for a some community awareness prior to the Fall Festival. They are preparing as always to protect our families so everyone can enjoy the festival.
These amazing monitoring trucks can be placed on location to quickly deter issues and monitor your neighborhood. If you need assistance in your neighborhood, please reach out to our amazing police department!
