After an article made it's way around social media labeling Evansville as the "Meth Capitol of the World." the EPD released a statement. That article, from 2014 mind you, labeled not only Indiana, but very specifically, Evansville as having a heavy presence of meth use and manufacturing. Now, the Evansville Police Department is reminding everyone that the article was published in 2014 utilizing data gathered in 2013. The EPD goes on to outline just how many meth busts they've had over the subsequent years, showing a steady decline - thanks in large part to the special Meth Suppression Unit. The EPD went on to say, "The renewed concerns over a large number of labs and the dangers of trash on the curb are unwarranted." To read the full statement from the EPD see below.
