Free Community Dog Park Planned for Downtown Evansville, Indiana
Dog Day is one of my favorite events in Downtown Evansville. I'm pretty excited that soon every day will be dog day with a new park.
Unleashing the Fun
The Earthborn Holistic Pet Nutrition Dog Park promises to be a pawsome place for our fur babies to socialize, exercise, and unleash their inner athlete. This small-scale park will be completely FREE to use. Imagine afternoons spent letting your pup loose on the agility equipment, burning off that extra energy. If your pups like their snacks like mine do, this will be a great way to get some much-needed exercise. And don't worry about those pesky doggy poo bags - a convenient waste station will be there to keep things clean and green.
Big Thanks to Big Sponsors
A huge shout out to Earthborn Holistic Pet Nutrition, proudly produced by our very own Midwestern Pet Foods in Evansville, for being the park's generous naming sponsor. The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) is also thanking all the amazing sponsors who helped make this dream a reality. The final list of these furry philanthropists will be unveiled at the grand opening, which is TENTATIVELY scheduled for May 2024 (woof hooray!).
Prime Location for Pups and People
This fantastic new park will be situated right at the heart of the action, at Ingle and Third Streets. That means it'll be just steps away from hundreds of downtown homes and hotels, making it the perfect spot for a post-work playdate with your pup or a fun pitstop for visiting furry tourists.

Future-Proofed Fun for Years to Come
While our furry friends might not appreciate the finer details of city planning, here's a cool fact for you pet parents: The land for the park is leased by the EID from the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (EWSU). EWSU is a champion for improving our stormwater systems, and they have BIG plans for the park's underground area – a large water holding tank is expected to be installed by around 2037. This means that even in the future, our pups will have a place to play while the city keeps improving its infrastructure.
