Craft Crawl: Episode One Takes Us to the Newburgh Library

Welcome to the very first episode of The Craft Crawl! If you know me, you know I love doing crafts and creating things in general. Painting, crocheting, hand stitching—if it’s hands-on, I’m in. And honestly, some of the fun is trying things I haven't done yet (papermâché is still on my list).

Since I haven’t even lived in the area for a full year, I thought it would be fun to explore the Tri-State through crafting—and take you with me along the way. That’s the whole idea behind Craft Crawl: checking out different creative spots, trying new projects, and sharing the experience as it happens.

For the very first episode, I headed to the Newburgh Chandler Public Library, which was actually my first time ever stepping inside. I spotted on social media that the library was offering a free take-and-make paper strip Valentine’s Day card, complete with all the supplies and instructions. Instead of taking it home, I decided to stay and really experience the space and I’m glad I did. I think I found a new quiet spot for reading!

It didn’t take long to get comfortable. I found a cozy corner, spread out the supplies, and started working on my card, which even had room inside for a sweet note to my honey. The library had such a calm, crafty vibe that it felt like the perfect place to kick off this series.

While I was creating, I filmed the experience and shared it on TikTok—showing the free craft in action, the atmosphere inside the library, and how the paper strip Valentine came together from start to finish. If you follow @my105.3, you’ve probably already seen the video pop up with the hashtag #CraftCrawl, giving a behind-the-scenes look at episode one and how my Valentine turned out.

Just like that, Craft Crawl episode one was complete! My first library visit, my first project, and the first stop in what I hope will be many creative adventures around the Tri-State. This is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where the Craft Crawl takes us next. ✂️🎨
