City of Evansville Announces Christmas Tree Disposal Program
Another Christmas has come and gone, and that majestic tree, which has served you well as the centerpiece of your holiday decorations, is now a dead piece of timber in your living room. Fortunately, if you live in the Evansville city limits, getting rid of that fire hazard is as easy as taking out the trash.
The City announced on Twitter Tuesday Republic Services, the company which the city contracts for trash pickup, will gladly take that tree off your hands beginning this week, and will continue doing so for the next three weeks.
As noted in the tweet, Republic requests you cut the tree in half first, if you can, and set next to your trash can.
Visit the Republic Services website to see if you're eligible for the service, or if you live outside the city limits, the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District will also take your tree and turn it into mulch for free.
