I like bacon and I like beer.  That being said, I don’t quite know how I feel about mixing the two.  Part of me thinks it could be okay but the other part thinks it might be really awful.  Well, I guess we all can find out soon enough because a very well-known restaurant chain is set to release a beverage that incorporates the two.

Waffle House, yes, the breakfast place that always seems to have issues keeping its sign well lit, has teamed up with the brewing company Oconee Brewing Company.  This new beer will be called Bacon & Kegs.  (You have to love the play on words here) Bacon & Kegs will be released on December, 18 for breakfast and beer lovers alike.  Again, not sure just how good it will be but that may not matter too much because of the ABV (alcohol by volume).

This red ale will clock in at 6.5 percent ABV.  Which means you may be feeling this one after having just one serving of Bacon & Kegs.  Hey, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?  If you aren’t so crazy about the taste of the beer, at least the can looks pretty cool.  It has a 90s cartoon look to it with beer mugs and bacon strips distributed all over the can.  Plus, it includes the famous Waffle House restaurant as well as a fully spelled out Bacon & Kegs for the sign.

It will be interesting to see if this product takes off or not.  I mean there is bacon everything right now so I assume it will be popular with some people.  Will you be one of them?
