Evansville-based non-profit, Aurora, who works to end homelessness in the community, is looking for people to step forward and adopt a family for their annual Holiday Party coming up in mid-December.

The organization is looking for clothing, toys, and other items for individuals and families who live in their Vision 1505 housing facility and Rapid Re-Housing/Re-Entry Program, as well as basic necessities for those they serve through their Homeless Street Outreach.

Here's specifically what they're hoping to get for each, according to a recent e-mail newsletter:

Vision 1505

  • Purchase (2) articles of new clothing and/or household item(s)
  • 1 "special request" item
  • Staff will provide family information to donors including a wish list and sizes.
  • Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped, to 1001 Mary St. by Friday, December 6th at 4pm.

Rapid Rehousing/Re-Entry Program

  • Purchase (2) articles of new clothing and/or household item(s)
  • 1 "special request" item
  • Staff will provide family information to donors including a wish list and sizes.
  • Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped to Aurora, 1001 Mary Street, by Friday December 6th at 4pm.

Homeless Street Outreach

  • Purchase  (2) articles of new clothing
  • 1 "special request"
  • Purchase a few basic necessity items such as underwear, hygiene products, gloves, etc.
  • Gifts should be delivered, unwrapped, to 1001 Mary Street by Friday, December 6th at 4pm..

Note:  Typical investment is $50-$80 per client.
