The local chapter of the American Red Cross is helping out those communities affected by last night and this morning's storms.


The American Red Cross is responding to tornado damage caused by storms in the early morning, across multiple counties including; Gibson, Posey, Lawrence, Orange, Dubois and Jefferson.
The Red Cross opened a shelter in Gibson County for 17 people at approximately 2AM CST:  Owensville United Methodist Church, 103 S 3rd Street, Owensville, Indiana

“We are committed to supporting residents in affected areas,” said Theo Boots, executive director for the American Red Cross Southern Indiana chapter. “We will continue to work with EMA directors, partner agencies and other Red Cross volunteers to make sure people have their basic needs and know that the Red Cross is always there.” Individuals affected by the storms are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross Southern Chapter at: (812) 471-7200.
