It's back to school time, and this year that brings with it a lot of uncertainty. Will school start on time? Will you send your kids to school or keep them home? What happens if kids get sick? What will happen to sports and other extra-curricular activities. A lot of questions, but not a lot of answers. One thing we're certain of is that kids will need school supplies, and we know that can get expensive. We know that there are families that need help providing those supplies for their kids.

Young & Established recognizes that need, and they are ready to do something about it. They are hosting a FREE backpack drive today (August 3rd) from 4p-6p at Hartke Pool. A backpack, by itself, doesn't do much good though, that's why all of the backpacks handed out today will be full of school supplies.

Courtney Johnson is the remarkable young man who founded Young & Established, which has kept busy during this pandemic, hosting several events that give back to the community. According to their website,

Young & Established exists for the betterment of the community, primarily through the inspiration and motivation of youth, but additionally by developing and participating in various activities and events focused on addressing today’s challenges.

Y&E strives to be a leading organization that actively promotes positive youth empowerment. It is the passionate desire of the Young & Established movement for youth and young adults to realize their self-worth and potential, establish and reach goals, become successful members of their communities, and to fulfill their dreams!

Ask anyone who has met Courtney, and they'll all tell you how special this young man is - we should be grateful to have him in our community. Liberty and I are certainly grateful that we had the chance to talk to him about Y&E and today's backpack drive. Here's that interview.
