All the great ring announcers have a catchphrase they're known for, so it only makes since for me to try and come up with my own ahead of Guns and Hoses IV.

If you haven't heard, or caught on yet, for the first time in its existence Guns and Hoses will feature a new voice as the ring announcer — me. I'll be taking over for my friend and former co-worker, Jon Prell who did a phenomenal job at Guns and Hoses 1 - 8. Jon retired from the gig (and radio) less than a year ago before moving to Savannah, Georgia and leaving the door open for me to step in.

When it comes to catchphrases, no one does it better than the Buffer brothers. Michael has made quite the comfortable living as a boxing announcer thanks to his signature phrase, "Let's get ready to rumble", while half-brother Bruce has made a name for himself as the UFC announcer with "It's time!"

Being the savvy businessmen they are, both have trademarked their phrases and have legal teams in place to make sure no one uses them for their own personal gain. Could I use one during Guns and Hoses? I could, but if anyone captures it on video, and uploads it to the web for the world to see, there's a chance a cease and desist will show up in my mailbox, or worse yet, a bill for who-knows how many thousands of dollars for using their phrase without permission.

Plus, I don't just want to step into the ring and imitate someone, I want to do my own thing, and I've been wracking my brain over a possible phrase since I was offered the position as ring announcer. Here's a few I've come up with.

Tickets for Guns and Hoses IV are still available at the Ford Center box office, and online through Ticketmaster.
