The EPD and EVSC Take Students on Special Shopping Spree

What an amazing opportunity for some very deserving students! Academy Sports invited 16 young men and women from various EVSC schools to a special shopping spree. They were joined by EPD Chief Billy Bolin and our friends from the Evansville Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit.

The officers served as personal shopping consultants for these students, who each received a $150 gift card from Academy Sports. They could use it however they wanted - to buy a couple big items or to fill up their cart with smaller items. One student had never been to Academy before, so you can imagine how overwhelming that might have been for him.

Our thanks to Academy Sports for donating the gift cards, and to the EPD for giving these young people a day they'll never forget! And our thanks to the students for letting us be a part of their special day.
