The 2024 high school marching band season has come to an end for many schools in Southwestern Indiana, but for the bands that are still in the race, the finish line is in sight. The next hurdle to get over is the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) semi-state competition coming up on Saturday, October 26th.

Following the recent regional competition, we now know that 16 Southern Indiana high school marching bands have earned the right to compete at semi-state. The goal, of course, is to score well enough to advance to the state championship held at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, November 9th.

Take a look at the locations and performance times for these local bands, and if at all possible, go cheer them on. I realize that requires a bit of a drive on your part and giving up an entire Saturday, but these talented students deserve our support and would love to have it.

Class D Competition at Franklin Community High School

  • Tell City High School performs at 5pm
  • Forest Park High School performs at 5:15pm
  • Mater Dei High School performs at 6pm
  • South Spencer High School performs at 6:45pm

Class C Competition at Decatur Central High School

  • Vincennes Lincoln High School performs at 2:45pm
  • Washington High School performs at 4:30pm
  • Southridge High School performs at 4:45pm
  • Bosse High School performs at 5pm
  • Mount Vernon High School performs at 5:45pm
  • Princeton Community High School performs at 6:15pm
  • Boonville High School performs at 6:30pm

Class B Competition at Pike High School

  • Jasper High School performs at 2:30pm
  • North High School performs at 5:15pm
  • Harrison High School performs at 6:15pm
  • Reitz High School performs at 6:30pm

Class A Competition at Ben Davis High School

  • Castle High School performs at 6:30pm
