My Spotify Wrapped Says I’m… 70 Years Old?!

The curiosity of who your most-streamed artist was this year is officially over—Spotify Wrapped has arrived! And listen, as much as I love radio (obviously), there’s still a part of me that hops right onto the Spotify bandwagon every year. I can’t help it. Wrapped is like the Super Bowl of music recaps. It gives you your top songs, top artists, top genres—basically a full rundown of who you were sonically for the past 12 months.

And apparently… I’m 70.

Yep. According to Spotify, my “listening age” is seven decades old. SEVENTY. That’s 46 years into my future, which feels rude and hilarious at the same time. But honestly? Makes total sense. I’ve always had the music taste of someone who probably owns a very organized vinyl collection and waters their houseplants while listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Something about classic artists and the stories behind their music has always hooked me. Cleaning to The Beatles on vinyl? Elite. Road-tripping with The Marshall Tucker Band? Unmatched vibes.

My Top Artists This Year

So here’s what Spotify claims I said “yes” to all year long:

5. The Marshall Tucker Band
4. Faces
3. Led Zeppelin
2. Fleetwood Mac
1. The Grateful Dead

No surprise there. I proudly wave my Dead Head flag. I listened to **1,205 minutes** of The Grateful Dead this year, which puts me in the **top 2%** of their global fanbase. When you know your groove, you know your groove.

And Then There Were My Top Genres…

Now this is where we stay the same in some areas and change in others:

5. Rock
6. Hip Hop
7. Rock & Roll
8. Indie Pop
9. Southern Rock

Southern Rock?? I had to laugh at that one. I’m still not entirely sure what officially qualifies as Southern Rock, but considering my most-played album was *Can’t Buy a Thrill* by Steely Dan… maybe Spotify decided my vibe was somewhere between “1973 road trip” and “Yacht Rock dad with a boat named Serenity.”

Bobby's Spotify Results

It was honestly hilarious checking out Bobby’s Wrapped too. His listening age? 52.
His actual age? 50.
See how normal that is?! Meanwhile, I'm out here with my digital AARP card.

So… What Did Your Wrapped Say?

Whether you use Spotify or Apple Music, these end-of-year playlists always bring back memories you forgot you even made—songs from vacations, late-night drives, heartbreaks, glow-ups, all of it. Mine didn’t surprise me one bit, and honestly, I kind of love that.

Another year, another Wrapped that totally called me out… and I’ll take it.
