Southern Indiana Baker Inspires Entrepreneurs One Pie at a Time

I met a very special person last year, and her story is so inspiring that I have to share it with you.

Jenny was a school counselor and once she went through active shooter training, she just wasn't comfortable with her job anymore. Now, she didn't just up and quit. She consulted a career counselor and determined that baking could be her path to true happiness.

A Hobby Turns Into a Pie-rfect Business

So, Jenny took her baking to the streets, setting up at farmer's markets and it just took off from there. In October of 2017, Jenny opened her first storefront bakery on Evansville's West Side. Seven years and a lot of pies later, the second location of the Be Happy Pie Company opened.

Jenny's personality is so infectious. I could tell that she really cares about her customers and her Pie Minions. In fact, during our visit to the East side location, I witnessed an emotional goodbye from a team member who was leaving to go to college.

It was so refreshing to walk in and feel like everyone behind the counter really enjoyed what they were doing. That is clearly a testament to how Jenny has been so successful as a business owner.

I was very excited to learn that the east side location will have a nice patio space and it will be dog friendly. Oh, and a little puppy dog tells me that there will be more Be Happy Pie locations to open in the future - Stay tuned!
