Some States Are Offering Digital Driver’s Licenses | Indiana Could be Next
If you forget your driver's license, do you go back home and get it?
Probably not. But, if you forget your phone, you turn that car around and get it, right? That's the logic behind digital driver's licenses. Several states, including Idaho, Colorado and Maryland are offering the new ID system through an app on your phone. Indiana could be next, if this Bill passes. With all of the recent data breaches, you might not want your personal info in an app, but that's really no different than losing your purse or wallet. Personally, I prefer my plastic license, because my phone is frequently on low battery, and that would do me no good, if I want to buy alcohol or go to an age-restricted event. While this isn't offered in the Tri-State yet, if carding people is part of your job, you definitely need to know about it.
