I've been a cat mom before, and one of my babies showed up on my porch declawed. I immediately took her in, because she couldn't defend herself outside. This is a very common procedure, but several cities in the U.S. have banned declawing. It's also banned in the following countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand.

Some vets will not perform this procedure, because it changes the way a cat walks. Do you think declawing should be illegal everywhere?
