I came across this FB post from the Boonville Police Department, and it has a lot of people talking! Basically, someone had their dog riding in the bed of their pickup. The dog jumped or fell, and people thought it was being dragged. Police looked into the matter, and found that the dog had been checked out at the vet, and was going to be ok. The driver faces no charges because...It's not against Indiana law to have your pets ride in the bed of a truck! In fact, only 5 states have laws regarding this issue. Hawaii goes one step further, and adds that you also cannot drive with a dog on your lap. What do you think? Do we need some laws on the books, for safer travel with our pets?
