A Night to Remember at the Victory Theatre

What a night and what a season for the Evansville Philharmonic! This is a big deal for me because I didn't know what I was getting myself into this year. When I first came to Evansville, I knew there were events I needed to attend, but I didn’t realize how many music events were being introduced to me. From someone who was born in a town where you had to drive 45 minutes away to see anything that wasn’t a Dollar General or McDonald's, I had my eyes opened. When I met Roger Kalia, he was not just a regular interviewee who came in; no, he instantly intrigued me with his passion for what he does. He would sit down and talk about how the Evansville Philharmonic has so many great composers, guests, and shows set up, and I knew I was in for a treat.

I didn’t get to see all the shows this season at the Victory Theatre, but I saw a couple, and the way they ended their season was iconic.

The Evansville Philharmonic ended the 2026 season with *A Night of Symphonic Rock*, and if you know me, you know thats right up my alley. If you were there, you already know the show was the finale and did not disappoint. I’m talking guitar picks thrown in the crowd, the lead vocalist/guitarist running around the theatre, and for the last song, the entire crowd standing. Hits from Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Kiss, Aerosmith, I mean, you name it, and it was played, and the Stairway to Heaven solo… I’m still getting goosebumps.

When Rock Meets Symphony

The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Roger Kalia, teamed up with a talented six-piece rock band from TCG Entertainment for a performance that blended two worlds in the best way possible.

We’re talking powerhouse vocals, seriously impressive musicianship, and a sound that filled the entire theater. The band brought the energy, and the orchestra matched it every step of the way. I have seen many bands perform, and even bands like The Who and The Eagles will have an orchestra for some songs, which, in my opinion, really enhances the sound.
