Repel Indiana Mosquitoes By Changing Your Body Soap
Tired of getting eaten up by mosquitoes? A new study found that you can repel them by using a body soap that has a certain ingredient in it.
I don't know about you, but I always have a BAD mosquito problem in my yard. I can't even walk outside for two minutes without having to swat those pests away. It's a nuisance that nobody wants to deal with. Maybe you have tried citronella candles while sitting on your patio. That helps some. Perhaps you have lemongrass or peppermint plants in your yard to help keep the mosquitoes away. Somehow it seems that they are all only so effective. One thing that you can do, according to a new study, to repel those dreaded mosquitoes is simply change up the kind of body soap you use.
How Your Body Soap Can Repel Mosquitoes
Outdoors.com shared a pretty interesting study about one way you can repel mosquitoes. Now, your scented body soap might attract mosquitoes your way. However, if you use a body soap that contains coconut in it, your body soap might actually repel mosquitoes. There's a lot of science at play here, and other sources have confirmed that having body soap with coconut just might deter mosquitoes.
A study from iScience confirmed there is some evidence that mosquitoes don't like the smell of coconut-scented body soap. The team identified four chemicals that were associated with being slightly more attractive to mosquitoes and three that appeared to repel them, but the results were generally weak and variable for all chemical scents tested except one: coconut.
I don't know about you, but that's all that I needed to hear to give coconut soap a try. If it will keep the mosquitoes away from me when I am letting the dogs outside, it's certainly worth a try.
