If Your Dog Needs a Rabies Shot, There’s a Vaccine Clinic Coming to an Owensboro Park

In the Commonwealth of Kentucky, it's required that every dog over the age of four months be vaccinated against rabies. At the end of the month, the Green River District Health Department, in conjunction with Daviess County Animal Care and Control, is making that process incredibly easy for dog owners in and around Owensboro. They're hosting a Rabies Vaccine Clinic at Legion Park.

By the way, here's some additional information about Kentucky law that may encourage you to visit the clinic. In the state, if an unvaccinated dog bites someone, the dog must be quarantined and monitored for ten days. If there are no signs of rabies, the dog can be released. If it's determined the dog is rabid, it will be euthanized.

To help offset some of the costs associated with vaccination, the Green River District Health Department is facilitating this low-cost opportunity.

In addition to the one-year rabies vaccine, there will be vaccines for parvo/distemper and Bordetella.

Plus, microchips will be available as well.

The Rabies Vaccine Clinic will be held in this Legion Park shelter.

That particular Legion Park shelter is located at the intersection of JR Miller Boulevard and Byers Avenue in the heart of Owensboro.

And, reminder. Animals should be kept on a leash or inside a crate. No appointments are necessary.
