Are you ready to meet your next adventure buddy? Say hello to Mello, an 8.5-year-old pit mix with a heart full of love and a nose for exploration. Pulled from Evansville Animal Care and Control over 240 days ago, Mello has been patiently waiting for his forever home. At 48 pounds, this sweet and spirited pup is a perfect size for outdoor adventures or cuddling on the couch.

Mello thrives in a home environment, as he's currently living with both a large dog and a small dog in foster care. He’s open to meeting kids and enjoys canine companionship but prefers a cat-free household. This well-mannered boy already knows how to "sit" and is a pro on the leash, making him an ideal partner for hikes, strolls, and everything in between. With an adoption fee of $200, Mello could be the loyal, adventurous companion you've been searching for. Ready to adopt? Visit ITVRescue.org to apply today!

Why Volunteers Are Vital to ITV's Mission

The dedicated volunteers at It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue (ITV) make all the magic happen. From cleaning kennels to walking dogs and grooming pets, their tireless efforts ensure every animal gets the care and love they deserve. Volunteers also handle the less glamorous tasks like laundry and sanitizing dishes, but their work doesn’t stop there. They attend offsite adoption events, photograph adoptable pets, and socialize animals to prepare them for their forever homes. Without these compassionate individuals, ITV’s mission to "adopt, don’t shop" wouldn’t be possible.

Though ITV’s main dog adoption room is closed until January 2, 2025, for kennel upgrades, applications and emails are still being reviewed. Mello—and many other pets—are waiting for a loving home. Help make a difference and consider volunteering or adopting today!
