Pickleball is a sport that has been gaining popularity in the Evansville area. People of all ages and skill levels can attempt pickleball, and it can be played both indoors and outdoors. While our ideal location for more pickleball courts remains up for debate, I have put together a guide to pickleball courts in the Southern Indiana and Kentucky area.

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a court with a net that is lower than a tennis net and is typically played in doubles, although singles play is also possible.

The game is played with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball that is similar in appearance to a wiffle ball. The objective of the game is to hit the ball over the net and into the opponent's court, with the goal of making it difficult for the opponent to return the ball.

Pickleball is for Everyone

I'll admit, the first time that I heard about Pickleball it was from a friend's grandma. She plays the game religiously at the Ymca Of Southwestern Indiana. So, I just associated pickleball with an older generation. Thanks to our friends at pickleheads.com we have all kinds of information and stats about pickleball including what age groups are playing.
