You can't talk about Halloween in Southern Indiana and NOT mention the Old Courthouse Catacombs and the House of the Lecter. For more than three decades, these two haunted houses in downtown Evansville have been a must-see for folks who like to get the crap scared out of them.

One of the best things about the Old Courthouse Catacombs and the House of Lecter is that they are just two blocks apart. You can purchase a combo ticket for both haunted houses and then spend the evening going back and forth, visiting both as many times as you would like in a night.

The theme for 2023's haunting season is Tomb of Lost Souls, described as...

Some of the dearly departed who were laid to rest in the unmarked tombs were buried pre-maturely and they will RISE AGAIN when the bells ring!

Dates and Hours of Operation

The Old Courthouse Catacombs and the House of Lecter are open from 7pm-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 7pm-9pm on other nights. They are open on the following dates

  • 10/19-10/22
  • 10/26-10/31
  • 11/3-11/4

How to Win a Pair of Combo Tickets

If you enjoy going through haunted houses, then we're going to assume that you also enjoy scary movies. Each day this week (10/16-10/20) at 7am, Liberty and I will act out a "Spooky Scene" from a popular scary movie. If you are caller #5 and you correctly name the movie, you will win a pair of unlimited combo passes to both the Old Courthouse Catacombs and the House of Lecter.
