Notre Dame Players to Have Hearings Next Week
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says five players being withheld from games because of possible academic dishonesty should have their honor code hearings completed by the end of next week.
Cornerback KeiVarae Russell, receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive end Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore have been barred from practice and games since mid-August. Defensive back Eilar Hardy was added to the list on Aug. 28, the same day Kelly announced the investigation was complete.
Kelly was asked if he believes the players have essentially been found guilty of academic misconduct since they will miss a quarter of the season no matter what happens. He said he didn't have enough information to comment.
No. 8 Notre Dame plays Syracuse in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday.
